Cooper Aerial's Own Rick Bunger Named Surveyor of the Year

Phoenix, Ariz. – Cooper Aerial Survey Company, a client focused aerial photo and mapping company is proud to recognize Rick Bunger for being named Surveyor of the Year by the Arizona Professional Land Surveyors(APLS).

Mr. Bunger was recognized for his great contributions to the field of surveying at the 2007 APLS Conference in Laughlin, Nevada where he was named 2006 Surveyor of the Year. This esteemed recognition is awarded to one surveyor every year after he or she is nominated by fellow APLS members. The recipient of the award is then determined by the ballots of the APLS Board of Directors.

Mr. Bunger has been a member of the Cooper Aerial staff for 2 years. Prior to his employment with Cooper, Rick served as Gila County Surveyor during which time he also served as APLS Chair. Not only does Mr. Bunger have a great understanding of traditional surveying methods but he has worked diligently to bring the surveying industry in the State of Arizona up-to-speed technologically. His support of Height Modernization efforts made it possible to develop a survey quality cadastre in Gila County.

Additionally Mr. Bunger is working to preserve the history of surveying in the state of Arizona. Rick has devoted his personal time and resources to meeting with and interviewing some of Arizona’s oldest living surveyors, recording stories and accounts of their experiences on the job. With this project Mr. Bunger is preserving an intriguing part of Arizona’s history.
