Cooper Aerial Surveys Company, a multi-disciplinary aerial photo and mapping company, was established as an Arizona Corporation in 1966. With offices located in Phoenix, Tucson, and Hermosillo, Sonora, in Mexico, we are well known throughout the southwestern United States and one of the largest aerial mapping firms in the country. We take pride in the fact that we are a full service mapping company, and able to plan and execute all phases of a project under one roof.

Adobe Dam / Desert Hills – ADMS – Phoenix, AZ
Cooper Aerial Surveys Co. was contracted to provide 2’ contours for 50 square miles. For cost savings, we integrated as much existing mapping as possible. The project was flown using Airborne GPS where results exceeded field check expectations. Cooper Aerial Surveys Co. worked with the MCFCD to integrate our mapping data into there GIS/HIS specification. Additionally, we designed a custom translator to convert all mapping, survey and hydrology data into their format and specifications.

City of Chandler – Orthophotography – Chandler, AZ
Cooper Aerial Surveys provided the City of Chandler with an updated ortho-rectified digital image database. 1:9600 color photography of the proposed 86 square mile site, which was scanned at approximately 2000 dpi to create 6” pixel resolution was furnished. The images were then used to generate 1”=100’ scale orthorectified mapping with 5’ contour intervals. 1” = 1000’ viewable satellite imagery was also furnished for planning purposes and was referenced to the City of Chandler’s GIS Database. Accuracy well exceeded the National Mapping Accuracy Standards.

Rodeo Chediski Rehab Project – White Mt, AZ
Cooper Aerial Surveys Co. acquired 2600 sq miles of 1’ resolution digital imagery using the ADS-40 digital sensor and provided the White Mountain Apache Tribe with multi-spectral sub-meter orthorectified imagery. We performed the AT using airborne GPS and soft-copy auto-correlation and processed over 2 TB of raw imagery into 1km square orthorectified tiles. The client also received a stereo workstation giving them the capability to view the data in stereo, but also compile data directly into their database.

City Of Flagstaff
Cooper Aerial helped define the most cost effective approach to acquire a new updated color orthorectified image database. For cost savings we utilized Airborne GPS and created a new DEM for 3D modeling. Cooper Aerial created 1’ resolution imagery that was orthorectified using a DEM created from scanned and controlled stereo photography to produce 1”=400’ horizontal accuracy. Each file was compressed and delivered using MrSID image compressing for GIS compatibility.

I-10 Washington – US60 – Phoenix, AZ
Cooper Aerial helped define the most cost effective approach for mapping services to meet the various consultants’ needs. Cooper Aerial Surveys Co. provided digital mapping services for the US 60 transportation corridor. The topographic mapping was collected for a 1’ contour interval accuracy and the planimetrics were collected with enough detail for a 1”=40’ scale map. This allowed Aztec Engineering quality mapping with design scale accuracy. Digital imagery was also necessary as a visual reference and planning tool to address environmental concerns, landscape architecture and utility location as well as for use in public meetings.

West Chino Valley – ADMS – Chino Valley, AZ
Cooper Aerial helped define the most cost effective approach for Area Drainage Master Study mapping. Cooper Aerial Surveys Co. provided digital mapping services covering 26 square miles. The topographic mapping was collected for a 2’ contour interval accuracy and the planimetrics were collected with enough detail for a 1”=100’ scale map. Geo-referenced digital imagery was also necessary as a preliminary geo-referenced visual tool, then later orthorectified for map accuracy.

Town of Fountain Hills, AZ
Cooper Aerial Surveys Co. created 6” resolution imagery that was orthorectified using a DEM created from scanned and controlled stereo photography to produce 1”=100’ horizontal accuracy. For cost savings we utilized there existing control network and created a new DEM for 3d modeling.

State Route 51 – Phoenix, AZ
Cooper Aerial helped define the most cost effective approach for mapping services to meet the various consultants’ needs. Cooper Aerial Surveys Co. provided digital mapping services for the State Route 51 corridor. The topographic mapping was collected for 1’ contour interval accuracy and the planimetrics were collected with enough detail for a 1”=40’ scale map. This allowed Stanley quality mapping with design scale accuracy. Digital imagery was also necessary as a visual reference and planning tool to address environmental concerns, landscape architecture and utility location as well as for use in public meetings.

SRPMIC Digital Imagery – Phoenix, AZ
Cooper Aerial helped define the most cost effective approach to achieve two goals with a fixed budget. Provide an ortho-accurate aerial alternative to IKONOS 1-Meter imagery of the legal tribal boundary for any land dispute issues. Provide an alternative and update existing geo-rectified imagery of developed areas using high resolution. For this, Cooper Aerial Surveys Co. created 2’ resolution and 6” resolution imagery that was orthorectified using a DEM created from scanned and controlled stereo photography to produce 1”=200’ horizontal accuracy. This solution provided Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian community improved accuracy of their existing imagery and entire tribal coverage without the cost of creating a highly accurate DEM.

Loop 202 Floodplain Mapping – Phoenix, AZ
Cooper Aerial flew and furnished 1:3600 black and white stereo photography of the proposed site which was used to create 1” = 40’ scale topographic mapping with a 1’ contour interval. The project was mapped as a digital terrain model and included plan and contours. In addition, 1:9600 black and white mono center shot photography of the entire site which was used to generate 1” = 100’ digital ortho-rectified photography of the entire project.
